- In a mixing bowl, dissolve sugar in lukewarm water and sprinkle in active dry yeast. Allow to bloom for about 10 minutes until foamy.
- Mix in all-purpose flour and salt, then knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Generously grease a 9×13-inch non-stick metal pan with olive oil.
- Transfer the kneaded dough to the oiled pan, turning it over to coat. Stretch and press the dough to fill the pan. Cover and let rise for about 2 hours.
- While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 450–475°F.
- Once risen, flatten dough and spread pizza sauce. Layer cubed cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, sliced Roma tomatoes, and season with black pepper.
- Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 17–20 minutes until cheese is melted and edges are golden brown.
- Let it cool for 5 minutes, then loosen edges and slice into squares. Serve warm.
