Step-by-Step Instructions for Toasted Italian Sandwich
  1. Begin by spreading a generous layer of butter on one side of each slice of Italian bread. Set the bread aside.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat for about 2 minutes.
  3. Carefully place one slice of bread, buttered-side down, into the skillet. Start layering with mozzarella cheese, provolone, deli ham, and salami.
  4. On the unbuttered side of the second slice, spread mayonnaise and a thin coat of Dijon mustard.
  5. Place the second slice of bread on top, mayonnaise-side down, and press down lightly with a spatula.
  6. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden, then flip and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes.
