- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather your ingredients while the oven warms up.
- Melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat in a medium saucepan. Stir in 2 cups of brown sugar until fully combined and bubbling for 3-5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1/2 teaspoon of salt until well blended.
- In a large mixing bowl, pour in 8 cups of Chex cereal. Drizzle the warm butter mixture over the cereal and gently fold until coated.
- Spread the coated cereal mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for about 15 minutes, stirring halfway through.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet to allow the toffee to harden.
