  • 12 pieces Large Pasta Shells Cook al dente.
For the Filling
  • 15 oz Ricotta Cheese Well-drained.
  • 5 oz Fresh Spinach Chopped if using whole leaves.
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese Reserve some for topping.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese Optional: substitute with Grana Padano.
  • 1 piece Egg Optional.
For Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder Or to taste.
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder Or to taste.
  • to taste Salt For flavor.
  • to taste Pepper For flavor.
For the Sauce
  • 2 cups Marinara Sauce Homemade or jarred.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Boil salted water in a large pot. Cook the pasta shells until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and cool.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, spinach, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until creamy.
  3. Stuff each shell with about a tablespoon of filling. Place in a greased baking dish.
  4. Pour marinara sauce over the shells. Add remaining mozzarella on top.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil for the last 5-10 minutes.
  6. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving. Optionally, garnish with fresh herbs.
