Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 1 lb Ground Pork or substitute ground turkey, chicken, or tofu
  • 2 cups Shredded Cabbage green or napa
  • 1 cup Shredded Carrots or thinly sliced bell peppers
  • 2 Green Onions chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger or ground ginger
Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 tbsp Oyster Sauce or mushroom sauce for vegetarian option
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil or vegetable oil
Assembly
  • 10 Egg Roll Wrappers gluten-free wrappers available
  • 2 cups Oil for Frying for crispy exterior

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a tablespoon of oil. Cook ground pork until evenly browned, 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet.
  2. Add another tablespoon of oil to the skillet. Sauté minced garlic and fresh ginger for 1 minute. Add shredded cabbage and shredded carrots, stir-fry for 5 minutes until tender yet crisp.
  3. Return cooked pork to the skillet. Add green onions, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Cook for another 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Place an egg roll wrapper in a diamond shape. Spoon 2 tablespoons of filling near the bottom corner. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, tuck in the sides, and roll tightly. Seal edges with water.
  5. Heat enough oil in a skillet or wok to fry egg rolls. Fry each batch for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Remove fried egg rolls and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with dipping sauces.
