Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add sliced chicken sausage and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
  2. Stir in 3 minced garlic cloves and cook for approximately 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add 2 cups of broccoli florets and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften.
  4. Pour in 1 cup of orzo pasta, 4 cups of chicken broth, and 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning along with salt and pepper to taste. Stir well and bring to a boil.
  5. Once boiling, reduce heat to a gentle simmer, cover the pot and cook for 10-12 minutes until the orzo is tender and liquid is mostly absorbed.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in ½ cup of grated Parmesan cheese until melted.
