Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Using a sharp knife, carefully slice each croissant horizontally without cutting all the way through to create a pocket.
  3. If desired, spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard inside each croissant.
  4. Layer in two slices of ham and a generous portion of shredded Swiss cheese inside each croissant pocket.
  5. Melt a tablespoon of butter and brush the tops of the filled croissants.
  6. Sprinkle grated Parmesan and chopped fresh herbs on top, and add a dash of black pepper if desired.
  7. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake the croissants for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before serving warm.
