  • 1 large Onion diced; can substitute with shallots
  • 2 large Bell Peppers diced; any colors can be mixed
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced; fresh preferred
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese softened; can substitute with mascarpone
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce adds umami flavor
  • Salt adjust to taste
  • Pepper adjust to taste
For the Cheesy Topping
  • 8 oz Provolone Cheese sliced; can substitute with Gouda
  • 1.5 cups Mozzarella Cheese shredded; can replace with cheddar
For Sautéing
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil can substitute with avocado oil

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9x13 baking dish with non-stick spray.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onions and bell peppers, sauté for 5-6 minutes, then add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  3. Add 2 lbs of ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and brown for 7-8 minutes, then drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce and 8 oz of cream cheese until melted and well mixed.
  5. Transfer the beef mixture into the baking dish, layer with provolone cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 22-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  7. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
