Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, vegetable oil, and salt. Sprinkle yeast over the mixture and let it sit for about 10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Stir in 2 cups of all-purpose flour until just combined. Add beaten egg and mix well. Gradually incorporate remaining flour, kneading for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Transfer the kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover it, and allow it to rise for approximately 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Punch down the risen dough and roll it into a log, cutting it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a rope and tie them into knots.
  5. Place the knots on a lined baking sheet, cover loosely, and let rise for about 20 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Bake for 18-22 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven and brush with garlic butter sauce.
  7. For garlic butter, melt butter and stir in minced garlic and Italian seasoning. Brush over hot knots.
