- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, vegetable oil, and salt. Sprinkle yeast over the mixture and let it sit for about 10 minutes until foamy.
- Stir in 2 cups of all-purpose flour until just combined. Add beaten egg and mix well. Gradually incorporate remaining flour, kneading for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Transfer the kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover it, and allow it to rise for approximately 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the risen dough and roll it into a log, cutting it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a rope and tie them into knots.
