Ingredients
  

For the Batter
  • 1/2 cup Butter softened
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar light or dark
  • 2 large Eggs room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract pure recommended
  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour or gluten-free blend
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder ensure it's fresh
  • 1/2 cup Milk or almond milk
For the Apple Filling
  • 2-3 Apples Honeycrisp or Fuji
  • 1 tablespoon Cinnamon
For the Glaze
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup of brown sugar with 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 tablespoon of baking powder.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, cream 1/2 cup of softened butter with 1 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Beat in 2 room temperature eggs one at a time, then add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with 1/2 cup of milk.
  7. Peel and chop 2-3 firm apples and toss them with a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar.
  8. Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan, layer the cinnamon-sugar mixture and half of the apple filling, then top with remaining batter and apples.
  9. Bake for about 60 minutes; check for doneness with a toothpick.
  10. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, prepare glaze by mixing 1 cup of powdered sugar with milk.
  11. Flip onto a wire rack and drizzle the glaze over the top.
