Ingredients

For the Tuna Salad
  • 2 cans tuna rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise or Greek yogurt for a healthier option
  • 1/4 cup chives fresh, chopped
  • 1/2 cup basil leaves fresh, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • to taste black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt adjust as needed

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Fine mesh sieve
  • High-speed blender

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by rinsing two cans of tuna under cold water in a fine mesh sieve, pressing down gently to remove excess moisture.
  2. Transfer the tuna to a large mixing bowl, allowing it to break apart slightly for easier mixing later.
  3. In a high-speed blender, combine the mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt), fresh chives, basil leaves, fresh dill, minced garlic, and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour the green goddess dressing over the prepared tuna in the mixing bowl. Gently fold the dressing into the tuna until evenly coated.
  5. To serve, enjoy the salad straight from the bowl, or spread it on toasted bread, whole grain crackers, or as a filling for lettuce wraps. For a tuna melt, top with cheese and heat at 350°F for about 5 minutes.
