Cooking Steps
- In a medium saucepan, bring 1 cup of cold water to a boil over high heat. Stir in 1/2 cup of uncooked white rice, reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for about 20 minutes until the water is absorbed.
- Combine the cooked rice with 360ml of milk, 67g of white sugar, and a pinch of salt in a new saucepan. Set heat to medium and simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring frequently until thickened.
- Lower heat and stir in the remaining 120ml of milk, the beaten egg, and 100g of golden raisins. Stir for about 2 minutes, ensuring the egg doesn’t scramble.
- Remove from heat and mix in 14g of butter and 2.5ml of vanilla extract. Stir until butter melts and adjust sweetness if necessary.
- Spoon into serving bowls and sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg. Serve warm.
