Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of warm water, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 packet of instant yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Gradually add 2.5 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of salt, mixing until sticky dough forms. Knead for 5-6 minutes.
  3. Coat the dough with 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a clean bowl. Cover it and let rise for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled.
  4. Prepare garlic oil by heating 2 tablespoons of olive oil with minced garlic in a small saucepan for 1 minute, then set aside to cool.
  5. After rising, deflate and transfer the dough to a greased pan. Stretch to fit and create dimples with your fingertips.
  6. Cover and let rise again for 30-45 minutes until fluffy. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  7. Dimple the surface again, brush with garlic oil, sprinkle with Parmesan, herbs, and sea salt. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
  8. Cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Slice and serve warm.
