Ingredients

  • 1 cup Warm Water At 110°F
  • 2 teaspoons Dry Active Yeast SAF yeast recommended
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour Bread flour can enhance chewiness
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 cup Salted Butter Melted
For the Filling
  • 1/2 cup Packed Brown Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Ground Cinnamon
For the Glaze/Frosting
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar Consider coconut sugar for a less processed version
  • 2 tablespoons Room Temperature Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Heavy Cream Milk can work as a substitute
  • 1/2 cup Cream Cheese Softened for easy blending
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Method
 

Dough Preparation
  1. Combine warm water, dry active yeast, and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add salt and all-purpose flour to the mixture. Mix on medium speed with a dough hook for 5 minutes until elastic and smooth.
  3. Cover the bowl with a towel and let the dough rise in a warm spot for 10 minutes.
Shaping the Dough
  1. Roll the rested dough into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  2. Roll the dough tightly to form a log and cut lengthwise down the center.
  3. Twist the two halves together and tuck the ends underneath. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Cover with a towel and let rise for 20 minutes.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake the loaf for 20 to 23 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Let cool for 5 minutes on a wire rack.
Glazing
  1. Mix powdered sugar, room temperature butter, and heavy cream until smooth. Drizzle over the warm loaf.
  2. For cream cheese frosting, apply once cooled slightly.
