Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Reindeer Pretzels
- Begin by finely chopping the semisweet chocolate and placing it in a glass or silicone bowl. Heat in the microwave at medium power in 30-second intervals, stirring between each session until completely smooth and melted—this should take about 1 to 2 minutes. Be cautious not to overheat the chocolate, as it can scorch.
- Once the chocolate is smooth, set out your mini rod pretzels on a large parchment-lined baking tray. Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each pretzel into the melted chocolate, ensuring it's completely coated. Gently tap the fork against the bowl’s edge to remove any excess chocolate, allowing the perfect layer to remain on the pretzel.
- While the chocolate is still soft, create the reindeer bodies by placing two pretzels side by side on the parchment. This charming formation resembles the body of a reindeer, and it’s best to work quickly to prevent the chocolate from hardening. Make sure the pretzels are close enough to each other to hold the decorations.
- While the chocolate is still tacky, carefully position the mini candy eyes onto each pretzel to give them personality, and press a red candy onto one pretzel as the cute reindeer’s nose.
- Once all your Reindeer Pretzels are assembled, leave them at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes to set and harden completely. Avoid placing them in the refrigerator.
- Once firm, gently lift the Reindeer Pretzels off the parchment and place them in an airtight container.
