Steps for Meatballs In Lemon Sauce
- Soak crustless bread in white wine for about 5 minutes in a small bowl.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, ground beef, egg, minced onion, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried parsley, ground cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Add the soaked bread to the meat mixture and mix until well combined.
- Shape mixture into approximately 15 oval meatballs, each about 65-70 grams.
- Cover meatballs with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the meatballs for about 4 minutes on each side until browned.
- Remove meatballs to drain excess oil and lower heat, adding butter to melt.
- Add flour to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously.
- Gradually whisk in hot water or stock and lemon juice until sauce thickens.
- Return seared meatballs to skillet, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes.
- Serve meatballs in lemon sauce, garnish with cracked pepper and dried oregano.
