Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Begin by rinsing the sushi rice under cold water until it runs clear. Cook the rice according to package instructions, then mix with sushi seasoning while warm.
  2. Preheat your broiler to high, ensuring the oven rack is placed about 6 inches from the heating element.
  3. Spread an even layer of the prepared sushi rice at the bottom of a baking dish, pressing down firmly.
  4. Sprinkle a layer of masago across the sushi rice, followed by a light dusting of furikake.
  5. In a bowl, combine imitation crab, cream cheese, Japanese mayo, and black pepper. Mix until creamy and spread over half of the sushi bake.
  6. Open the canned tuna, drain excess oil, mix with Korean chili paste, and spread over the other half of the sushi bake.
  7. Drizzle additional Japanese mayo over both layers and sprinkle more furikake if desired.
  8. Place the assembled sushi bake in the broiler and broil for 3-5 minutes, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
  9. Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
