- Preheat your oven to 380°F (195°C) and prepare a 12-cup muffin tin with liners or grease it.
- In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Juice one orange until you have about 1/4 cup of juice and dice the other orange.
- Whisk together egg, sugar, milk, orange juice, and melted butter until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and fold gently until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and diced orange pieces that have been tossed in flour.
- Spoon the batter into the muffin tin, filling each cup about 3/4 full.
- Bake for 23–25 minutes, until risen and springy to touch.
- Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
