Step-by-Step Instructions for Smoked Sausage Pasta
  1. Begin by gathering all your ingredients for the Smoked Sausage Pasta. Slice the smoked sausage into bite-sized pieces, dice one onion, and mince three cloves of garlic.
  2. In a large skillet, heat two tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced smoked sausage and diced onion. Sauté for about 2 minutes until the onion is translucent and the sausage is browned. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  3. Lower the heat and add 12 ounces of bowtie pasta, one can of diced tomatoes, and 4 cups of chicken stock. Pour in 1 cup of heavy cream, stirring until well combined. Bring to a gentle boil.
  4. Once boiling, cover with a lid, and reduce the heat to low. Let the Smoked Sausage Pasta simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. After it has cooked, remove from heat and stir in 1 to 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese until fully melted. Let rest for about 5 minutes before serving and garnish with sliced green onions.
