Step-by-Step Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients: chicken drumsticks, smoked paprika, garlic, heavy cream, Dijon mustard, flour, and spices. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) while seasoning chicken.
- Pat the drumsticks dry, season generously with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Arrange on a baking sheet.
- Roast in preheated oven for about 35–40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, sauté minced garlic until fragrant. Sprinkle in the flour and whisk to create a roux.
- Gradually stir in heavy cream and Dijon mustard, simmer until thickened for about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to taste. Allow flavors to meld for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Once chicken is roasted, place in a large bowl. Pour the creamy sauce over, toss to combine.
- Prepare steamed rice while chicken cooks. Fluff rice and serve chicken on top, optionally garnish with herbs.
