Step-by-Step Instructions for Easy Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Adjust the oven rack to the middle position.
- Peel your potatoes and slice them into 1/8" thick rounds using a mandoline slicer. Place them in a bowl of cold water.
- In a saucepan, melt butter, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Stir in heavy whipping cream, salt, and pepper, then remove from heat.
- Layer half of the potato slices in a greased baking dish, pour half of the garlic cream over them, and sprinkle half of the cheddar and parmesan on top. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 25-35 minutes or until potatoes are tender and top is golden brown.
- Let the dish rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
