  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese shredded
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack Cheese shredded

For Garnishing
  • Fresh Toppings (diced tomatoes, green onions, cilantro) optional but recommended

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Skillet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Baking Dish

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the tater tots package, usually around 425°F (220°C). Spread tater tots evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  2. While tater tots are baking, heat a large skillet over medium heat and add ground beef. Cook for 7-10 minutes until browned, then drain excess grease and season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned ground beef, slightly crushed tater tots, and both shredded cheeses. Mix until well distributed.
  4. Warm tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side or microwave for 10-15 seconds to make them pliable.
  5. Fill tortillas with a generous amount of filling, drizzle with chipotle sauce, and add sour cream. Roll tightly from the bottom up and secure seam side down.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) if not already set. Arrange burritos seam-side down in a greased baking dish, sprinkle with cheese, and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Let burritos cool for a couple of minutes, then garnish with fresh toppings and serve with additional sour cream and chipotle sauce.
