Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat until melted, about 1-2 minutes.
  2. Add 1 finely diced yellow onion and 2 minced garlic cloves. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until the onion is translucent and fragrant.
  3. Incorporate 2 cups of chopped fresh broccoli and sauté for an additional 5 minutes until the broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp.
  4. Pour in 1 cup of heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese until melted and smooth.
  5. In a separate pot, cook 8 ounces of ditalini pasta until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
  6. Add the drained pasta into the skillet with the creamy sauce and gradually mix in the reserved pasta water until the desired thickness is achieved.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in ½ cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese until melted. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with extra grated Parmesan and a sprinkle of black pepper.
