Ingredients

For the Soup
  • 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil Consider using olive oil for a healthier option.
  • 1 lb Ground Beef Swap for ground turkey for a leaner dish.
  • 1 Onion, diced Adds depth of flavor; shallots work nicely for a milder taste.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Enhances flavor; garlic powder can serve in a pinch.
  • 1 head Green Cabbage, chopped Provides bulk and nutrition; savoy cabbage offers a tender texture.

  • 4 cups Beef Broth, low-sodium Acts as the soup's base; vegetable broth is great for a vegetarian version.
  • 3 cans Tomato Sauce Each can is 8 oz; brings acidity and depth.
  • 1/2 cup White Rice Use quinoa for gluten-free or omit for a low-carb option.
  • 1 Bay Leaf Adds subtle flavor; dried thyme can be a suitable alternative.
