Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Fill a medium saucepan with cold water, bringing it to a rolling boil. Gently lower in the large eggs and cook for 7 minutes.
  2. Prepare an ice bath with ice and cold water. Transfer the eggs to the ice bath for at least 5 minutes after cooking.
  3. Tap each cooled egg on a hard surface to crack the shell. Peel the eggs under running water.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and honey until dissolved. Add in garlic, chili, scallions, sesame seeds, and sesame oil.
  5. Place peeled eggs in a sterilized jar and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they’re fully submerged.
  6. Seal the container and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.
  7. Remove the eggs from the marinade and slice in half. Drizzle with extra marinade and sprinkle sesame seeds before serving.
